Why We Built Goldie
Feeding a baby sounds simple until you are the one doing it.
You are told to breastfeed, but to do it invisibly and with minimal paid leave. Trust your instincts, but you are definitely doing it wrong. Feeding is described as the most natural thing in the world, yet you are handed a thousand products and rules to get it right.
When you turn to formula, the support often thins out. You may be shown how to prepare a bottle, but left without guidance on amounts, schedules, transitions, or the emotional weight that can come with feeding decisions.
Goldie was built to sit in that gap. Even though infant feeding is a relatively short phase, it can have a lasting impact on a family's wellbeing and confidence. Goldie exists to offer steady, evidence-based support that meets families where they are, without pressure or judgment, whenever they need it.
Meet Sarah, Goldie's Founder
Sarah Turrin is a mom, product leader, and the founder of Goldie. Throughout her career, she has built healthcare and technology products used by millions of patients, with a focus on safety, trust, and human-centered design.
After the birth of her daughter, Sarah faced significant feeding challenges that were difficult to diagnose and exhausting to navigate. Like many parents, she spent long nights searching for answers and trying to piece together support that felt fragmented and hard to access.
When she became pregnant with her second child, Sarah was determined to find better feeding support. When timely, affordable help was still hard to come by, she began building Goldie, initially for herself and soon for many other families navigating feeding without a safety net.
Sarah lives in San Francisco with her wife, their two children, and their mini Bernedoodle, Juniper. When she's not feeding her babies or helping you feed yours, she's probably sleeping.
